Car Seat Strollers
Car Seat Strollers: Choose The Right One For You
Car seat strollers are rarely on the registry list for those expecting babies nowadays, but why? Chances are it is because people are used to buying a car seat and then a stroller, and not considering a car seat stroller because they may not fully understand what one is and why they should invest in one. There are several things to consider about car seat strollers, including the different options you have with them and what they can do for your luggage and post-pregnancy life.
Options
There are a couple types of car seat strollers available on the market today. One style is a car seat that attaches to a wheel base set low to the ground – basically the car seat becomes the “seat” of the stroller and safely keeps the child in one seat instead of having to transfer from seat to seat throughout a shopping trip or other outing.
Another option for a car seat stroller is called a “travel system.” With the travel system, the stroller base for the car seat to lock into is set higher off the ground and the car seat faces the handle of the stroller. This option looks more like a traditional carriage once it is all put together, and can transfer into a traditional stroller once the child outgrows the rear-facing car seat.
Benefits
The benefits of using a car seat stroller or travel system are many. One of the biggest benefits is that it removes the need for moving a sleeping baby to take him or her out of the car seat to be placed in a stroller. This reduces the number of interruptions you encounter while shopping or walking by having to soothe a wakened baby. Another important benefit of using a car seat stroller is that they are just as safe as regular strollers. Strong locking mechanisms ensure that the car seat will sit snugly in the stroller or wheel base. With the travel system especially, the biggest benefit of a car seat stroller is that when the child outgrows the car seat he or she doesn’t have to outgrow the stroller.
